Attending Our First Business Exhibition

3 Counties Expo

The Preparation

After researching different types of events we could attend, a member of our team found The 3 Counties Expo and thought it was an ideal event to involve ourselves with. So, we purchased a stand, with electric of course, and started brainstorming creative ideas to make our presence memorable. We wanted to make our stand look as fantastic as it could, with plenty of branded items and eye-catching things. As this was our first public exposure, we aimed to make a strong impression on local businesses and entrepreneurs.

The exhibition supplied each stand with a table, so the first thing ordered was a branded tablecloth, black all over with our white logo at the front, creating a professional and striking base for our display. Next, we collaborated with our designer, Paul Sandler, to create our first roller banner. Working with Paul is always a great process, his creative mind always puts something together you know you’ll be happy with.

Next our team had some large photos of our space printed professionally and ordered stands for the photos to sit on. We felt this was a good idea so exhibitors could visualise the space and our offerings. To further enhance this, we compiled a montage of short videos showcasing Shelley Offices.

One of the highlights of our stand was the Cadbury’s chocolate bars branded with the Shelley Offices logo, which were a big hit with the exhibitors. Additionally, we had brochures, flyers, keyrings, pens, business cards, mugs and a prize draw I hope to catch people’s eye and stop for a chat. Our first prize, was x2 hospitality tickets to a home game at Watford Football Club, generously donated to us by the club. Second prize was a £100 voucher for use at The Hertsmere golf and restaurant facilities, and third place was a locally sourced bottle of white wine from Hazel End Farm in Bishop Stortford.

On The Day

An early start was a must to get to Watford Hilton Hotel by 8am, leaving plenty of time to set up the stand. Our team worked hard to lug all items inside and set up the stand before 8.45am. Exhibitors were starting to enter from 9am, soon filling up the large function room with businessmen and women, entrepreneurs and company representatives.

The Shelley Offices’ stand attracted a steady flow of interest, which was excellent considering the office space had only recently launched. Visitors were eager to learn about our space, pricing, and facilities. We received a lot of positive feedback and generated some promising leads, making the event a resounding success for us.

If you missed us at this exhibition, keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates on future events. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting journey!
